Library Advisory Board

Overview

The Library Advisory Board supports the development and advancement of the public library by advising the Library Director, City Manager, and City Council on policies, programs, and long-term planning. The board promotes public engagement, recommends capital improvements, assists with budget preparation, and provides input on library operations, facility management, and staffing matters—all within the scope of the city’s adopted budget and with City Council approval where required.

Board Membership

  • The board consists of seven members, appointed by the City Council.
  • Members serve three-year terms and may continue to serve until a successor is appointed.
  • A member of the board may not be appointed for more than three consecutive terms unless an exception is approved by a majority vote of the City Council.

For more information about serving or upcoming meetings, please contact the Library Director at (903) 729-4121.
