Parks Advisory Board

Overview

The Parks Advisory Board advises the Parks and Recreation Director, City Manager, and City Council on policies related to the city’s parks and recreational activities. Its duties include promoting public interest in recreation programs and events, recommending improvements for parks and facilities, supporting efficient use of recreational resources, assisting with special projects, organizing volunteer efforts, and developing a master plan for parks and recreation.

Board Membership

  • The board consists of seven members.  
  • Members serve two-year terms and may continue to serve until a successor is appointed. 
  • A member of the board may not be appointed for more than two consecutive terms unless approved by a majority of the City Council.

Meeting Schedule

  • When: 1st Tuesday of the 2nd month of each quarter at noon
  • Where: City Hall Conference Room
  • Public Access: Meetings are open to the public and follow the requirements of the Texas Open Meetings Act.
